Every spring as the snow melts and the days get longer, I get a strong desire to revise and refresh my wardrobe. It’s a want that so consistently comes around at the turn of every season that I am constantly refreshing the “new arrivals” tab on my favorite online stores.
Whenever I try to find new and exciting pieces to pull into my spring wardrobe, I’m always reminded of this Devil Wears Prada scene:
Everything is pastel florals in a loose silhouette and it's hard to make spring shopping feel special. With fall we have cute sweaters, winter brings cute coats, and swimsuits dominate the summer. What makes spring shopping special?
The answer is pastel florals. As standard as they may be, they signify a change of the season that can brighten anyone's day. Spring brings a sense of hope, but there is still a dreariness that has to first melt away. That's why we wear the same spring styles, to call forth the spring that bring happiness.
In practice, I can’t afford to overhaul my closet every year. Not to mention, that is also an extremely unsustainable practice. Because of that, I get picky at what makes the cut of the new season arrivals. Here is what I have my eye on for this spring.

After trying a similar pair of slides that my sister owns, I am positive that these shoes will be a great addition to my closet. The comfort and simplicity make this design a big winner. Molded platform slides have been rising in popularity for months, and now is the time to cash in.

If there is one thing about me, I’m going to wear a skirt. The versatility of a patterned midi skirt is unmatched, especially in the transition to spring. Add some tights and cropped sweater for colder weather or swap it for a crop top during a warm day. Plus, remember what I said about buying unsustainably? Well, thrift stores have an abundance of midi/maxi skirts. I have at least seven thrifted skirts that I wear on constant rotation.

I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a million more times, brightly colored mesh knit is the banger style of spring. Wear it over a bralette or thicker tank top for a slightly more modest look. The texture of the mesh knit adds visual interest that can be amped up with layering.

I graduated college in December and am now a fully grown adult with an office job and everything, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to settle for boring clothes. Nothing brings the spring spirit more than bright colors, and pinks and greens are all over clothes right now. These pants combine the trendy wide-legged silhouette with a color that is sure to stand out. The split hem is begging for a cute mule heel to be paired with it.

These daisy earrings are simply the cutest things I’ve ever laid my eyes on. They are delicate, understated, and easy to pair with anything. Want something a little more exciting than the beige tones? It also comes in a silver and blue opal version.
Spring shopping is always a blast with a variety of fun colors, prints, and textures to choose from. Now is the time to get creative by mixing and matching transition pieces to make exciting spring looks, and most importantly, get those spring florals!
