MUSIC IN COLOR.

MUSIC IN COLOR was a art event highlighting women in music. Multi-disciplinary women. A few blocks from Hudson Yards, I got to spend the 4th of June with the pulse of 300ent.

300 is a label that houses thee Meg Thee Stallion and YSL's very own Gunna and Young Thug. This being the first event of its kind coming from the label, I wasnt going to miss this for the world. Spending all of 6 hours in New York that day, it was one of the smoovest days yet.

Upon entry, we were welcomed with goodie bags from Urban Decay filled with a gift card from AAPI and women-owned brand, ILYSM. A setting and hydrating spray and a thank you card from 300. Perfect to hold the other items we received from the installations throughout the event.

Tia's display was the first display I seen and I immediately was drawn to her Coi Leray figurine. Me being the biggest Coi fan, I was in such awe. Providing several different types of toys we were able to tap into our inner child on the walk through. Being an India native, Tia is the co-founder of Krool Toys. A New York based creative studio and emerging toy company. Tia takes pride in the joy her toys and games bring those who encounter with them due to the innocence and fun of childhood memories. Listen to Tia's interview here.

AURA PHOTOS.

Throughout the venue there were two stations to take photos. A major goal of mine for the year of 2022 is to make sure I leave every function I attend with a photo of myself from my back camera, or a photographer. (I get nervous asking people for photos lol). 300 covered it for me with an Aura photo station, having us place our fingers onto a machine that reads our energies and shows us our auras in a polaroid. -- Mine being orange!

In the front of the venue, there was another photo station. I didn't know that the photos were going to be the photos Meg is always posting with the 300 in the corner but when I seen my photos, I almost screamed! I absolutely LOVED them! I was able to take 3 photos and of course I had to put my ShadeBySmoove shades on for 2 out of the three. I absolutely love souvenirs so thiiiiisssss is everything and more! I go everywhere by myself and I HATE asking people to take pics of me because a lot of people dont take photos well lol. Professional photos are always a plus for me on the experience. Shoutout to 300.

Walking to the rear of the venue, the massive projectors were displaying digital artwork of creators like Motion Mami and Mattaniah. Displaying motion work, visual campaigns, and commercials from the talent at 300. It was smoove as fuck to learn who the women were behind the viral posts and videos we see on our timelines.

Getting to end the night speaking with Tamara was such a delight. Tamara curated this event and brought the event to life. Meeting her and her manager Allison, was amazing. Talking with Tamara, she was such a light. As I got the chance to start talking with Tamara, she was surrounded by a group of her friends who were all emotional at their friends success. Watching folks actually support their friends is a beautiful time. A very powerful and touching moment to watch. Listen to Tamara's and I conversation here.

I was able to learn more about Tamara and her takes on having women highlighted for their passions. Women deserve the highlight, almost always. About 80% of teams that make things run in motion are women. Women most of the time do not get the credit and acknowledgement that they deserve. I think its vital to take time to provide women with an opportunity to receive both. Shoutout to all my boss babes. Nothing we do is easy, soft, light, or (another word like light). Pussy and money run the world. Never, ever, EVER forget that.

At the end of the night, I bumped into my favorite city girls, The Girll Codee. The girlls were just getting to the event after preforming at Brooklyn Unity Fest. They were the headliners. They got their own tour of the gallery got some downtime to just chat. They gave me a ticket to Hot 97's Summer Jam! Its always a good time when I see the girlls.
