Inflation: todays new highway robbery

By: Moonchie

As small businesses expand and get the recognition they deserve first time & true supporters are always happy to see the brand and/or company flourish. In the same breath I‘ve begin to notice that a couple brands and companies sometimes forget where they’ve started and came from. There‘s nothing wrong with knowing the worth of your brand and/

or business when it comes to the services you may provide or garments you make if the process has been upgraded.

Some brands and companies get a little big headed when someone popular happen’s to wear their garments and post photos in it or have their photo taken by a popular photographer and it helped blow up their business, increase their sales and possible even sell them out or when someone popular speaks on receiving a service from a company and the same domino effect happens.

Moving forward these brands and companies think just because they were able to gain great exposure from these posts or situations that they should automatically raise their prices. As I said before there’s nothing wrong with knowing your worth, but when you decide to raise a price on a garment or service there should also be a raise on the quality of those garments or a better version of that service so customers who have been purchasing and supporting from the beginning can have an understanding.

If you started selling your graphic t-shirts for $30 a piece and never change the quality or how it’s produced but now charge $100 for the t-shirt because a photo of Lebron was posted of him wearing the shirt? it’s robbery to those who genuinely support you. Now if you changed your shirts to a better quality or started having them be made from scratch then absolutely raise your price to get your money back plus some good profit, but having a celebrity wear your garment isn’t a good enough reason and believe you me people will notice.

Staying true to what made your genuine customers support you in the first place will always be important no matter how popular or successful the plan becomes.
