Introduce yourself. Where are you from, when did you start making music, and why?

Hi, my name is David Kordei. I am from a small town called Middletown located in Connecticut. I have been pursuing music for over 4 years now and have grown a passion for it ever since, outside of my other careers.

How would you define your sound? Who is your “average” listener?

I would define my sound as a pure tone and vibrant. Therefore, my average lister would have to be a lister that is open to different sounds which means not the average sound that you hear every day.

You have to think outside the box and know that you listening to someone that is working hard to pursue their craft in many different ways.

Who would you say some of your influences are in the music industry?

Some of my influences in the music industry would have to be specifically Saucy Santana, Coi Leray, and Beyoncé, especially after what she has delivered with the art of “Renaissance”. I mean come on these individuals genuinely make a great body of work without caring what anyone has to say. Therefore, that is what pushes me to continue to strive for greatness.

What is your favorite thing about making music and releasing it to the world?

My favorite thing about making and releasing it to the world is many things including feedback, new listeners, gaining actual love through your music, and stepping out of your comfort zone. People that are not trying to pursue the entertainment business don’t understand the hard dedication you have to put in which also comes with investment. You spend money to make money.

What is your studio ritual?

My studio ritual would have to be focusing on bringing all of my emotions together in abundance and delivering that when I am pushing my pen. Also, I reflected and dug deep into how the month of my writing that song went. It’s a different type of vibe.

What is your favorite song of yours?

My favorite song of all time would have to be Beyoncé’s “PURE/HONEY". It is such a unique song and you can tell she poured her heart, mind, and creativity into that masterpiece.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned since the start of your career?

The biggest lesson I have learned since the start of my career is to work to be the biggest. Step out on faith and try different sounds and things you may have never thought you'd try before. Also, be about your money and your mental health so that you can get through your career.

My biggest accomplishment this year would have to be filming my music video for my single “POP YA SHIT” it was my first ever official video shoot filmed in an art museum. So many individuals from my state came and genuinely POPPED THEY SHIT. POP YA SHIT ON ALL PLATFORMS NOW GO STREAM, please!

What's the theme song of your life?

The theme song to my life would have to be “Hollywood Dreams” by Coi Leray. Hollywood dream is a song that makes you look at what you're going through from a different aspect. Although it is a lower tone it gives me so much life and energy.
