Werk Trey, Werk!

Trey Tuck is a name I’ve been hearing more & more in conversation over the course of 10 months. Growing into someone I check for often. Having a flow like his, its something that isn't to be missed.
A Love Like Mine is a little under a month old and gives me Lupe Fiasco vibes. Just the feels. Having artists on the song like RIKOH on the hook and Wvrd support that feel.
This song is def for the ladies and perfect for the time that they decided to release this single. With the intro verse of Trey talking about his shorty really being that girl and how she handles him. Talking about her having her own, being the one he was looking for and how she is his road dog. The flow is effortless.
Its actually dope to hear three different flows on this song. I love the song because its long in length. Its a 3 plus minute song which I usually automatically get turned off by because I have a short attention span BUT this song is very different. I'd categorize this in the R&B category based off sound, lyrics and target audience. This one is def for the lovers lol.
Wvrd followed up after Trey perfectly. With the raspy sound of his voice, to his flow.. It literally just works. He himself goes into about 3 different flows within his verse which is a major highlight for me as a person who listens for versatility. He goes on to simping at the end of his verse and I fucking love that shit. Whoever ole girl is, def got a good one. Wvrd is an artist I have been introduced to via this single and I cannot wait to continue to listen to his music.
Easing into the hook. RIKOH bodied that. For sure. "You can search the stars and all around the milkway but you will never find a love like mine" to me was a hell of an opener. Being a songwriter and a singer is dope. Dynamic Duo because at that point, you dont lose. Now this isnt the first time Trey and RIKOH have come together on a single. "Picture That" being released in 2020, you know the two have chemistry. Looking forward to seeing more out of the two.
We asked Trey to tell us about the single:
"Originally, I sat down with Eastlane Donte & Josh Blount and told them I needed something we can put together for the ladies. The made the production in less than 2 hours then we brought Rikoh in! He brought a presence on the hook that is indescribable. After that, I put together my words and Wvrd came in and put the final touches on the song. We brought it to Max Morin in New York and he brought the record where it needed to be sonically!
It gives me the rush type of feeling when you meet someone you’re interested in for the first time. That like fresh feeling knowing what you can provide and bring to the table for someone your interested in"
