With summer approaching and the weather changing it is time for a summer song for the ladies. “F.N.F (Let’s Go)” – which stands for “F–k N—a Free” is definitely on the list for a ladies summer anthem. The song is by Glorilla, and produced by Hitkidd. The music video, also directed by Hitkidd has 20 million views on YouTube.

On the latest episode of The Station the staff got to chat with producer Hitkidd and talk about the billboard charting hit. We also had the opportunity to ask the producer about his music, what's next, and his Memphis origin. The Station is a Twitter Space where we discuss everything music, every Wednesday at 8PM EST.

Growing up in South Memphis, HitKidd had a passion for creating beats at a young age, he explained he was born into music because of his fathers involvement in the music business. He also explained how being from Memphis had an influence on his personal sound and what he was listening to.

When it came to F.N.F he mentioned he made the beat and listened to it in his car, on the ride home. He expressed that he knew from the beat he wanted a Woman on the song immediately. His first thought for someone on the song was Megan the Stallion, but ended up choosing to reach out to Glorilla. He said when he reached out to Glo, he told her she needed to come with everything that she had, “Like her life depended on it”. From there, that led to a 12 hour studio session and history was made. He also directed the video and shot it not long after recording the song.

Hitkidd also described how he loves making music with women. He revealed that he noticed women are really serious about their work in the studio, and explained that he has had some of the most successful studio sessions with women. He stressed the importance of supporting women in music and also the underdogs in the music industry.

The producer also discussed the importance of reading contracts and having an entertainment lawyer in the music industry. "Don't sign nothing without no lawyer" Hitkidd says. He also indicated the struggles of making sure you find the right lawyer for you as an artist, as well as not getting pressured into certain situations with labels.

Hitkidd and his team are Memphis natives and he made it known he would like to pursue work with other artists from Memphis as well. The producer explained how he met his manager through twitter, he expressed that they met through the social media app and have been working with each other since. They are a real Memphis team.

Hitkidd closed the interview with the hopes of wanting to continue to create and step out into other business ventures, like clothing, having a record label and publishing, and a gaming company. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Hitkidd and what he does next.
