What was it about sneakers that got you in the game?

Well I’ve always had a passion for sneakers. It started when I was young, my grandparents and mom always setup me for this.

Later in life I had no career direction in media, and there's two things I’m passionate about. That’s sneakers and gaming. I would’ve never thought sneakers would allow me to cover professional sports for over a decade.

What was your first sneaker?

When I was 4 years old, I remember it was the Jordan 4.

My mom, granny and sister took me to this Nike store in Hillsboro, TX.

Your favorite pair?

2009 Shadow Jordan 1, LeBron 7, Deion Sanders Nike Diamond turf.

Your favorite sneaker memory?

My favorite sneaker memory easily I want to say it’s 1995-96.

Chicago Bulls where on a crazy run my grandparents knew I worshiped Michael Jordan. I wanted the pinstripe Bulls jersey so she took me to a store called Oshmans in Arlington TX. They didn’t have the jersey, but they had a pair of 11s.

I remember pleading to her about the shoe. Long story short, she bought them. I honestly think the only reason why she bought them is because they had patented leather on them, maybe she thought they where church shoes lol.

Do you consider yourself a collector of sneakers? & Do you wear your sneakers?

I wear them all the time. I cover sports [so] it’s always dope to see the athletes show me love for wearing sneakers. I used to hoard sneakers back in the mid to late 2000s. Regret it til this day because a lot of the sneakers I had became unwearable due to age.

Whats your favorite brand of sneaker and why?

Nike, it’s easy for me.

When you grow up with a brand it’s hard to shy away from it,

What are a pair of grails to you?

2009 shadow Jordan 1 and it’s not even close. The leather and quality of the shoe is unreal.

Real sneakerheads know.

ree

Your favorite sneaker campaign?

Definitely when Nike Basketball in the mid 90s was doing the Nike fun police for Nike Basketball. The commercials where cheesy but dope.

A must have for your closet?

A must have for any closet honestly I’ll say the ASICS Gel Lyte 3. Very underrated shoe, very comfortable and if you got wide feet, go a half size up.

What is a shoe that you REFUSE to buy, why?

I will never buy a pair of the Monarch’s. They probably are comfortable but there's no way. Maybe when I’m 50 which is about a little more over a decade away, lol.

If you got the chance to sit in a meeting w/ a sneaker brand, what would you ask/recommend/ask/say?

Any. I love sneakers.

Hopefully one day it happens. Obviously Nike and Jordan Brand would be huge but I wouldn’t mind ASICS, Puma, or New Balance.

Most you’ve ever spent on sneakers?

Sheesh. I want to say close to $500.

I needed the Shadow 1s in my life lol . Overpay, but I wan eventas at in Dallas called, Kixpo. I saw them and I went crazy. Only for me to lose them 2 years later in a fire.
