Hi, my name is Jasmin and I am a Frankie With Da Lisp stan!!
It's important for you to know that because in this installment of Shoota's Segment, I'll be providing you all with an opinion piece of her latest release Sorry 4 Da Wait. That was your outright warning that this piece will indeed be written from a biased perspective.
--- --- --- --- --- ---
When this project dropped, I was so happy to hear new music from Frankie With Da Lisp. I can' get enough of the projects she's already released on streaming sites and S4DW fits right into my rotation just like the others.

Frankie With Da Lisp is one of Connecticuts very own!
I met her in January 2021 at Chill Shump's music studio. When I was introduced to her, I wasn't familiar with her music but after what I heard from her that day I instantly became a fan!! I've been following her music journey ever since.
Like I said before, I've been hooked on her music projects!!
Each work she has released is an incredible display of her lyrical ability and versatile flow.
On instagram, she describes herself as a SingerRapperCrybaby and I live for it!!!! On top of being a great artist in all the technical aspects, her lyrics are soooo relatable to my fellow peeps who spend time in our feelings..... every now and then 🙂.
On instagram, she's also been teasing the release of her upcoming album "Crybaby" with song snippets and music studio BTS.
Ever since Sorry 4 Da Wait has released, I've been locked in. We're gonna jump right into what I thought of my 3 favorite songs on the project.
"People don't care bout what you goin through, while you go through it/ Fuck it, I stick to myself don't tell nobody nothin and roll with it/"
On this song, Frankie jumped in her sadgirlrapper bag and she did not miss at alllll.
On Lonely she speaks about feeling all by yourself in this big world- something many people know about. I like how she really spilled her heart on this beat because I can relate to the picture of emotions and scenarios that she painted for us with her lyrics. And the visuals here match the energy. Check out her performance of Lonely via Tim Bryan's Air it Out series. The video was filmed in my hometown Bridgeport, CT!
This song was produced by Blvxk Friday, a frequent contributor to Frankie projects. These two are an undefeated combo! They are something to look out for.
"Cryin for help but nobody would listen/ so I had to get it by my lonely/ You can hear the beat cryin if you listen closely."
--- --- --- --- --- ---
Deal or No Deal showcases Frankie alll up in her crybaby bag and I'm right there with her 😭 I cannot sit here and act like I AINT FEEL THIS!!!!! She gave us peak heartbreak/break up bars.
Feeling lonely in a relationship, losing trust, knowing that you're giving your all to someone who treats you like an option- she painted such a clear picture of the thoughts and feelings that fill your mind during break up and put it over a song for us to sing along. She really did that and you just gotta hear it for yourself!
"I don't wanna think like this boy, all these niggas must be the same. You can't even come right back boy, you gotta leave or you stay"
The last song I wanted to highlight in this installment of Shoota's Segment is BREAKUPSONG.
This beat, also produced by her musical comrade Blvck Friday, is sooooo nostalgic. It's a sample of Aly & AJ's Breakup Song from the Disney Channel that I grew up with!! A lot of us were bumping to this song during commercial breaks on Disney (Channel 54!) IYKYK!!
I be all up on her page looking for music 😂 and she posted a snipped of this song before the project released. I flooded her DMs telling her the streets neeeeded it and I'm glad she dropped it!
After the nostalgia of the beat drew me in, she still kept me captivated with how well she took on the rockstar persona needed to make this song a banger. And this speaks to not only why I LIKE Frankie With da Lisp but also why I RESPECT her as a music artist.
I dont wanna do this to you, but it's clear like I see through you/ Want you to win, you want me to lose/ You're just like them other dudes. You had me open like I was naked, ain't no nudes."
--- --- --- --- --- ---
All in all, the theme of the project is love.
Love that does work out...and love that doesn't.
These 3 songs are my personal faves but she has much more to offer on the project! From the 3 songs I shared you get a feel for how she can jump from flow to flow and body it every time. After you enjoy my little break down, go listen to the full thing and let me know what you think! Remember to tell people that I put you on. 😉
