Who should you really be listening to?

Having an ear to the streets is something I brag about. It's something I am grateful for and something I take pride in sharing.

Over the course of the last few weeks, I have been curating SOURCED playlists via by.NETWORK's streaming platforms like Apple, Spotify, and Audiomack. These playlists can be compared to Apples "essential" playlists, where they provide you a playlist filled with that artist's top singles.

Here are the first 5 artists I know you should be listening to..

1) Pretty Kartier -- Georgia.

The flyest and the smoothest, Pretty Kartier. From the vette's to the horses in the stables, Barti has made her mark on the scene. Has stamped her name into the pavement.

When Barti came out to New York in 2022, we chopped it up about the future and her journey up until that point. I knew when she dropped Highly Flammable that there was going to be motion. The roll up records are just perfect for the setting. I think there are some ride around the city with your windows down bumping Barti. No matter the city. I was able to work with Barti on her release for Air Barti and it went beyond successful. The way the timeline gravitated to those sound waves? *chefs kiss*

Listen to Barti's essentials via our Audiomack, Apple Music, or Spotify.

2) Abby Jasmine -- Staten Island, New York.

Abby Jasmine has been the shinning star since about 2013 via Vine. Growing into the music world, she has had a grip on the game since then. This year being her first year as an independent artist with her album, Growing Pains, Abby has floated through the timelines oh so softly.

Being able to work alongside her this year during her run, I was given a glimpse of her work ethic and Abby is nothing to play about. She can rap, write, sing, and act. She is everyone's favorite for every single reason and it shows in her work.

I loved being put onto her her older gems and was blessed to be apart of her newest gems.

You can listen to Abby's essentials via our Apple Music, Spotify, or Audiomack.

3) Boy Floss -- Staten Island, New York.

Boy Floss.

IT's FLOSS! Floss was the first artist whose music I was played when I first started coming out here in November of 2021. At first, it reminded me of Nav. I loved Nav in 2017. Every single unreleased song I was played of Floss's only got better as time continued. The bpm is always perfect. It puts me in the smoothest of head space. Undeniably the flyest rocker I know.

Floss produces, engineers, records, and writes his own music. I learned this after I was already on the bandwagon. This just made me the conductor of the train. Within 2023 alone, he has performed all over the USA and Canada. Every video I see from his performances show the crowd almost breaking the floor. He's fan base is loyal and his sound consistent.

I have played Floss's music in so many different settings, any time I bring Floss to a function they are geeked to meet the kid. They know who my boy is and then chat with him about what their favorite song of his is. Floss is next up. There was no way I wasnt going to include him in this list.

4) MarkieDeeJr -- Queens, NY.

MarkieDeeJr.

MarkieDeeJr gives me PartyNextDoor. If you dont know, thats my favorite artist. When I watched MDJ perform at Unchained Artists first event in July, I knew I had to tap in and lock in.

Channeling different angles of being involved with another being, MarkieeDeeJr does the damn thing. Making sure that everyone can relate at one point or another. From cheating, loving, hurting, reminiscing, lusting, and MORE, he doesnt miss a beat.

Since the day I met him, he has been touching stages and timelines over and over again. Definitely one to watch.

Listen to his SOURCED via our Audiomack, Apple Music, or Spotify.

5) Fergie Baby.

Fergie Baby.

Fergie Baby, Harlems Finest, HIM, The One, the list goes on as to who Ferg is to the soundwaves and to New York.

I first seen Fergie at The Girll Codee's listening party in July of 2022 and then again at their Wild'n Out episode premiere event. We locked in a few weeks later in May. Between those months of us meeting, I tapped in on the tunes. Fergie is a talent that cannot be over-looked nor under-looked.

The energy that he gives through the speakers is unforgettable. Makes you want to get up and get active. In the smoothest way possible. He gives bops after bops after bops. First project I gave a listen to was Are You Dum?! Vol 1. Which released in 2018. 4 years later, I still got that energy. Bleachers and Shitten' Me put me in that ZONE. I added it to The Spot without hesitation.

Fast forward to 2022, He released Just Kuz It's My Glo Day and the ENTIRE project went diamond in my headphones. I was playing Twerk On Sumthin' and Suburbans at other peoples studio sessions, in the car with my family and on L rides, at the work on the iPad... the list continues. I say that to say that its December 2023 and Suburbans is still being played at MANY functions I attend. I applaud the entire team. Ive watched Ferg perform several times this year. Another act who deserves all his flowers.

Listen to Fergie's SOURCED via our Spotify, Audiomack, and Apple Music.
