Do we need fleets back? Do we need spaces?

Now if we look at Twitter in our app store, Twitter is listed under productivity and news. Twitters sole purpose was to be utilized by those in tech, journalism, and stocks. Which if you go on Twitter and really look into the volume of followers, you'll see the breakdown of how dominate those three categories are.
What is Twitter Spaces? Twitter Spaces are audio rooms that are held via Twitter. Twitter Spaces was starting to be rolled out in Fall of 2020. I was blessed enough to have the opportunity to gain access to twitter spaces in November of 2020 thanks to CT Breakthrough's own, Clark. With me gaining my step 1 of access, I was only able to listen in on conversations taking place. As time continued, I leveled up and became a beta tester for Twitter Spaces. Being one of the first 1000 users to gain access, it has been a beautiful journey to watch it develop into what it has.
Fleets were like stories but on Twitter. 24 hour access, people could reply, 30 second videos, it was dope. If utilized correctly, you def gained the most out of it. I thought I was going to hate fleets like I hated when IG took the concept from snap. But I stopped using snap in 2017 and never looked back lol. Once I got access to Twitter, I was like, "IG who?". Twitter discontented fleets due to the lack of usage.
Fleets gave me an opportunity to really connect with my followers. They were able to hear my voice, experience my day to day with me, learn about my business and just over all grow with me. I can say during the duration of time I had on fleets, my sunglasses business went UP. I connected with so many followers just by them seeing me package orders, picking new styles, talking about sales, how I styled the shades.. so on and so forth. Twitter was my number one source of income during the timespan.
Spaces allowed me to gain insight on what a family is like. I was able to connect with so many amazing people from around the way and I learned what it was like to be the baby of a family and what its like to actually be supported. Having people there to chat with everyday, you learn something new with them, you learn about new places, cultures, and people. You also find yourself in those spaces. Discussing numerous amount of topics with folks, it feels like were chillen in the living room just having family time. You learn where you stand on things. You learn how to be open about listening. You learn you a little better.
Spaces currently has its own tab that holds a menu of Spaces taking place all over the world. Spaces that are being held all day, everyday are NFT chats, world news, and trending topics. There is always an occasional #SpacesGotTalent which holds majority of the timeline.
November 19th, Adele's album, 30 released. I have yet to listen to it BUT I attended a random space hosted by iHeartRadio and it was a bunch of journalists and music heads reviewing the album. Adele was nowhere in sight. I thought that was the flyest thing known to man. One of the best vocalists to touch our time has a room of hundreds of people here just talking about what these songs made them feel. Legit song by song breakdowns, per person. Coverage from all over the country. It was phenomenal. Besides the fact the entire globe is tweeting about this album, this space is really providing the best of emotion bc we can hear it. Now her streams may double bc everyone is going to leave this space to see if they can view the song from someone else perspective or try to hear if they can pick up what so and so said.. etc. Phenomenal marketing.
Now if fleets were still a thing, I would say visual marketing could've also upped numbers. Orpah's recent show, any covers Adele has been on, 30 teaser vids from any interviews, ads.. etc. I don't know lol. Just my thoughts.
I say all the time, most users were like ungrateful children. They didn't appreciate the toy and now that its taken away, they want it back. FleetNik was probably the most active day on twitter that we've had in a while. I know Twitters servers were crashing because EVERYONE used fleets that day. Even if it was just one pic, it was getting put up there. Such an iconic day to be a tweeter. lol. If they gave us access back, I think we'd all use it.
I tweet Twitter daily to tell them we need fleets back. Hopefully one day, we will get them back. A lot of people tweet that they would like to sub spaces for fleets. I feel like location wise, Id like the same. But I am a user of both features. Spaces has its own tab on the app. If we leave the spaces in the tab and put fleets back to where they were, I think we'd all be grateful.
