Although February is the shortest month of the year, that has nothing to do with it being chosen for Black History Month. February was chosen by Dr. Carter G. Woodson to host Negro History week because it hosted Frederick Douglass' and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays. The week was later transformed into Black History month.

Often times, we forget that Black History is American History. It's just as much a contribution to society as everything else we learn!

Today I shared facts consisting of entertainment, athletics, art, and literature in alignment with #TheMove's topics. However Black people contribute to ALL sorts of aspects in life ranging from science, politics, activism, and more!

Here are some more places you can learn some Black History!

Happy Black History Month y'all! Cashapp someone Black today (or you can always give them a dollar lol).
