Hi Roc, where are you from?

Born and raised in CT. But I have lived all over the US - Detroit, Chicago, Dallas and now Charlotte.

What was it about sneakers that got you in the game?

They were always an area of individuality. I feel like my mom let me pick out shoes I liked, as long as they were within budget.

What are your favorite pairs?

Airmax 97s and Jordan 4s.

What is your favorite sneaker memory?

We used to have a thing called Midnight Madness.

At Midnight on release day you could go pick up your shoes. My cousin took me on his scooter to pick up my Cool Grey 11s. Good times lol.

Do you consider yourself a collector of sneakers? & Do you wear your sneakers?

I absolutely wear my sneakers. Yea, I’d say I’m a collector.

What's your favorite brand of sneaker and why?

Nike, hands down. Growing up Nike was THE brand. They are home to my favorite silhouettes.

What are a pair of grails to you?

Black Undefeated 97s.

Your favorite sneaker campaign?

The whole 90s basketball era was amazing. From Mike and Bugs to Lil Penny to Sheryl Swoopes.

A must have for your closet?

A pair of NIKEBYYOU creations. Whatever silhouette speaks to you. Just create something just for you.

What is a shoe that you REFUSE to buy, why?

I don’t think this answer exists. I have everything in my closet from Crocs to Bootlegs to independent brands to Sketchers.

If you got the chance to sit in a meeting w/ a sneaker brand, what would you ask/recommend/ask/say?

I’d sit with Nike and ask for more complete storylines with the shoes. From the packaging to the campaign.

Most you’ve ever spent on sneakers?

I spent about $300 on creating my own version of the Jordan 1. 1 of 1s so I don't think the big dawgs are worried about me.
