Bricks and Woods is a South Central Company. Inspired by the every day walks of life, the brand has delivered yet another fully functioning story.

Nothing Changed But The Address was a thee-city pop up tour coasting through Paris for Paris Fashion Week, New York, and Los Angeles for homecoming. Giving us attendees early access to the cozy 9060 before release day on January 30th.
On Sunday, January 22nd, I got a DM from one of my New York homies of this grey flyer that had no pics on it but it said New Balance collab launch event and I sent it to 30 other New York sneakerhead homies. I called out of work that very morning to attend this.

Monday the 23rd, I arrived around 4PM and my GPS brought me to 323 W 13th St. Also known as, T.A. Everyone was welcomed in by the Bricks and Wood team to a showroom filled with custom fuzzy laces and Reflective spacer mesh upper.
I was able to chop it up with CEO, Founder, and Creative Director of Bricks and Wood, Kacey Lynch. Learning that Kacey Lynch has been designing since 2011, sneakers were always a part of the business plan when Bricks and Wood was on the drawing board.
"Why New Balance?" is the question I started off with due to these 9060s being the second partnership between both houses. Explaining how New Balance took the chance on a smaller business, B&W was able to utilize the resources provided.
Why the 9060? --
The 9060 was the final section from several silhouette options given to the team. They "Spoke" to Kacey. Felt like it was a perfect balance between street style and daily living while still providing that couture look. Kacey and the team were sticking to their core value of high quality contemporary street-wear garments collaborated with everyday functional goods.

Why this color story? --
Creative Director shares that the color story is dedicated to Kaceys Granny. From the box that the pair comes in down to the custom fuzzy laces, this has been inspired by Granny from tongue to sole. Kacey elaborates on the details starting with the hints of greene within the rubber outer sole reflecting the grass in the lawn to the nude and grey reflecting the home and the fence, easing up to the blue details reflecting the sky.

Talk to us about the box about the sneaker box --
California has all the address numbers tiled into the homes or their sidewalks. The box the 9060 was detailed perfectly to display the address tile which is the entry of the home. Perfect entry to the sneaker.
Production for this pair of 9060 took about a year. Giving the silhouette a "good modern touch". Broadening the target consumer to become everyone. Not just the casual sneaker wearer or the constant gym go-er. Prior to the color way we received, Bricks and Wood tried metallic and other strong bold metals.

Paying homage to the New Balance 990 Kacey was sure to incorporate the bigger webbing on the 3M to give more of a fence look and feel. The custom fuzzy laces to incorporate the comfort of Granny's house and the curtains on the back of the heel is the smoothest touch to me on the shoe. The story is what sells the shoes. Providing the experience we are all seeking in sneakers nowadays.

Congrats to Kacey, Curtis Taylor Jr, and the rest of the Bricks and Wood team.
