Are you really a sneaker head if you only wear Jordans? Let alone are only familiar with retro color ways? Today we’ll be going over my top 5 favorite sneaker drops for the 1st quarter of 2024. ---- If you’re reading this, I ALREADY KNOW. A lot of heat has dropped in these past 4 months, but I had to bring it down to four & even though I’d love to go back and forth, we’d be here all day making wonderful arguments about who deserves to be in the top 5 so far.

At number 5 we have the Nike Vomero 5 “Chrome”. Featuring a standard white, grey & black base, adding the pops of chrome really makes it an eye catcher.
Nike did their thing with this specific silhouette. They dropped a tremendous amount of color way options and I’m not even mad at it because I haven’t come across a color way I don’t like yet.
As I personally own a pair I can confidently say that this is one of the most light weight, comfortable & universal sneakers that I own at the moment. It’s so hard to not throw them on with any & every outfit possible without feeling like I’m over wearing them!

At number 4 we have the Women’s Nike Air Footscape Woven “Sail/Black/Cow Print”. Featuring a textured tan & black spot cow print fabric with sail & black detail. I love the use of animal print and textured fabric that the sneaker community has been leaning more into & if you do too check out Fenty’s latest drop of their Pony Avanti’s.
I’m always an advocate for items that are out of the box, items that people usually stray away from. Those are usually the items that endured the most love & creativity when being brought to life. There are mix reviews on the comfort of this specific silhouette & I honestly think it all depends on the buyers foot.

At Number 3 we have, Air Jordan 5 “Olive”.
Originally released in 2006, this gem made an ultimatum come back. I remember my first time seeing someone in this shoe & you couldn’t tell me that they weren’t customs because if we’re being honest Nike & Jordan always need the right person on their team to push them to drop unusual color ways & lord knows this is one of the best color ways they could’ve said yes to.
A lot of people who were too young or just unfortunately didn't get a chance to grab these at the time definitely made sure to fulfill their childhood dreams of grabbing these up.

Before we get into number 2, I just want to take some time to give the overlooked sneaker brands their flowers. I’m always for creatives being able to showcase their creativity through collaborations, but a lot of people don’t even pay attention to certain brands that have been around for a lifetime.
With that being said my number 2 are the Jae Tips x Sacouny grid 2 “What’s the occasion”. These immediately made it to my overall list by having a blue pair so yes, I was a little bias. Seeing both pairs together gives a perfect universal duo for his & hers, besties, ect. The options are endless! Jae Tips has been setting the bar high for himself with these collaborations & I can’t wait to see what else he’ll produce.

Without further or do numero uno on my 1st quarter list are the Salehe Bembury x New Balance 1906R “Heat be hot” Pack & if you haven’t noticed yet, I absolutely LOVE playful colors in shoes. Being able to play off of the colors of a colorful shoe can help to bring more life into an outfit in ways you didn’t think of.
Blessing us with 2 pairs or a “pack” when it comes to collaboration releases on top of having them give two different feels through the colors, textures & details is so much fun. If you know then you know & New Balance have always been labeled as a comfortable shoe across majority of their silhouettes.
New balances displaying their versatility as a brand has been fun to watch. As I was growing up they were always referenced as “the dad shoe” company, but I guess we all know why now. New Balance have been saving knees & soles one human at a time!
Before you go, answer these 3 questions for me.
1. As the sneaker world continues to evolve what do you hope to see unfold?
2. If you had to wear one shoe for the rest of your life what shoe would it be?
3. What are your top 5 for the 1st quarter of 2024?
