New Haven’s own, Mindless Thoughts dropped some pieces this week. Known for their color contrasts, patches, and fabrics they came to deliver yet again.

SourcedBy got the chance to chop it up with one of Mildness's owners, Drea.

In November of 2013, Mindless Thoughts became more than just a thought. Drea expressed to her family that she wanted to start a clothing line. As surprised as they were, they were behind the idea since day 1. Having experience with drawing, she was able to co-create Mildness's Mascot, Heraldo. With time and dedication Drea taught herself how to use photoshop and continues to learn some new tactics everyday.

Opening their doors to State street in New Haven, Drea tell us that having a storefront has brought them nothing besides success. Gaining more brand recognition. Growing in the younger generation. Media coverage by several great media outlets.

”People that I honestly don’t think would have come across us if we didn’t have it.”

Before opening up the physical store, New Haven has been a huge supporter of Mindless Thoughts. Drea describes it as it being a beautiful experience. Owner goes on to say, The storefront really revealed how much we are loved by our city.

“It’s sometimes unbelievable.”

Being in business over the years, Mindless Thoughts has been able to drop products such as; socks, under garments, home décor and other accessories on top of their clothing. Each drop is a little different due to its versatility. The idea of the vest was just to enhance the jacket. "I am all about improving and making the item hotter than it is." The quality of each drop is over the top. This drop specifically highlights the patches on the suite, the cleanness of the jacket and the colors of the hoodie.

We asked Drea what her favorite piece was out of everything they've released. "My favorite piece is a tough one for sure.

" A definite choice is their "Trading Places" varsity jacket. It is a varsity jacket with leather sleeves that has Velcro patches. With the patches being Velcro, you are able to place them anywhere. Making the jacket exactly how you want it to look. Drea makes sure that the jackets are the best items sold.

There are a number of things that go into the curation of a collection. Color schemes, amount of pieces, fabrics, the list goes on. Drea states that she bases most collections off of one specific piece. Inspiration varies on what is going on in Drea's life. For an example, one collection was inspired by a trip to Malaysia.
