Colleen Hoover- Author Review

Happy Monday! Here we are with another blog post for #MentalHealthMonday :) I wanted to switch this one up a bit BECAUSE I don’t know about yall, Colleen Hooover has me in a chokehold.

One thing about me is that I love to read. It started with me seeing people talk about the book “It Ends with us- by Colleen Hoover.” Via social media, on almost every platform. I purchased the book, and finished it in 1 week. First and foremost, let’s just say Ms. Hoover is an amazing writer and she has a great way of reeling you into her story. Now, let me give you a little bit of a background:

It ends with us:

This Novel is about a girl named Lily who witnessed her mother get abused by her father all of her life and feeling helpless to do anything about it. She moves to Boston by the notion of wanting to live a life of her own terms, which is where she meets Dr. Ryle Kincaid. Her life takes a big twist when she meets him and starts to realize she has inhabited some of the same characteristics of her mother. With acknowledging these generational curses, does she inhabit it to pass it onto the next? Or is she the first out of the deck to put a stop to it?

A lot of us can resonate with bits and pieces of this story, if not all of it, just by reading the mini overview that has been provided. Reading a fictional story that can be very well realistic and investing emotions into these characters- took me for a loop. Think about it- We are the generation that is actively acknowledging the curses that our family has inhabited & we are BREAKING them, chain by chain. This story highlights the ups and downs that come with it- especially attempting to do so with your partner.

What curses have you acknowledged and broken?

The next read - is Verity by Colleen Hoover in which I am currently reading. Half way through, already a 10/10. As I am not finished with the read, I am going to provide a synopsis of the book:

Verity:

Lowen Ashleigh is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin when she accepts the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish. Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of veritys notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn't expect to uncover is the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read.

Hoover brings you through an abundance of twists and turns through her plots and reels you in with emotions that you didn't even know you had!

With that being said, Give Ms. Hoover a try you won’t regret it!

With love,
